**------ AFTER THE BELL ------**
"News & Gossip From The Wrestling World"

Roddy Piper's car accident injuries are apparently much worse than the XWF believes. Piper broke four ribs, with one rib puncturing his liver, suffered back injuries and a smashed ankle. Piper came very close to dying from his liver injury. Piper will return to XWF shows wearing a flack jacket to pro- tect his ribs, and crutches to help him walk.

Shane Douglas' Time Warner contract is set to expire on April 17, after which he is apparently scheduled to take over as the head XPW booker. It is expected that once Douglas arrives in XPW, the "hardcore style" will be toned down to Douglas liking.

New legislation has been passed in the state of Missouri. The
professional wrestling legislation is likely to affect the indy scene. The price of an official promoter's license has been raised from $200 to $400. A permit fee to run any type of wrestling event has also been raised from $20 to $150. Wrestlers will be forced to buy a new license to wrestle each year. These new prices and conditions will put independent promoters on tighter budgets, and we are likely to see fewer indy promotions.

It is expected that after the roster split, the WWF will add current OVW trainees Victoria, Sharmell Sullivan and the female Tough Enough 1 champion Nidia to spice up the women's division. It is also expected that only one promotion will have a women's division, while the other promotion will have a cruiserweight division. All three of the females have ap- peared on WWF television before. The WWF has Jazz (the women's champion), Trish Stratus, Lita, Mighty Molly, Jacqueline and Ivory familiar to WWF viewers. If the WWF brings in the other three ladies, the women's division could become "over" after all.

Apparently Mo London did a great job wrestling Perry Saturn at a recent "Jakked/ Metal" taping as many viewers praised London. Since the show is seen as a testing ground for tal- ent, London just may be given a second look soon.

Dear Squared Circle,

I think the writers have truly messed up lately. They had an invincible force, an unbeatable man like Kane, and they let him lose to restlers like Kurt Angle. No way, they should have kept him invincible.

It was great to see him take a blow then sit up like nothing happened. Now he takes a blow and lies down like he was hit with a sledgehammer. I say bring back the indestructible Kane. The fans loved him ... I still do.

Dear Squared Circle,

Well, the WWF did it, the real WCW invasion has arrived with
the nWo. It would seem that this time around they got it right.
The way WCW was introduced really displeased me. It was rushed,
and the scripts were as if it was the old WCW in the last days.

The best thing to come out of that was Stone Cold's "What?"
and RVD.

The nWo was a major hit in the WCW and now Vince McMahon has
the chance to get one up on WCW again, taking charge of this
stable and making it even better than before.

I hope Mr. McMahon knows that Hall, Nash and Hogan were not
all WCW had to offer. I'm in hopes that the other WCW stars
get the push they need, after the big so called split after
Wrestlemania.

So if I may say, Mr.McMahon, please, don't forget about the
old WCW fans. They now also fill up your arena seats.

Dear Squared Circle,
Is there a possibility that Big Poppa Pump or Sting will come
to the WWF? If so, when will we see them?

A: Look for Scott Steiner to make a WWF return sometime this
summer. As for Sting, he's officially retired now, so don't
expect to see him much anywhere.
